I dont get why som people dont get it 
i like the textures and the layout and because of the background color the other colors stand out really well, i would enterperate it as this..
paper is white, or tea coloured, even when you start a new document on your mac it starts out white, but these programs and apples ability to stand out can make any work colourfull.
